Deedy Johnson Reid
SMFS Board Secretary
Deedy is a seasoned IT leader with over 25 years of experience. Prior to her return to Louisiana, she held the position of Director of Information Technology – Support Operations for Chick-fil-A Corporate in Atlanta. She was handpicked by the company’s Chairman of the Board to be his mentee for a year. Deedy played influential roles on the Diversity Committee, IT Leadership Team, and the company’s Vision and Insights Team.
Upon resettling in Louisiana, she was elected as the City Council representative for District 5 in New Iberia. Her community involvement is further showcased as a board member of the Hopkins Street Economic Development Association, Council on Aging, and Communities in Schools organization.
Deedy is the founding member of the Downtown Neighborhood Association, driving revitalization efforts in New Iberia’s Ann Street corridor. In partnership with the USDA, she aids seniors in securing home refurbishment grants and assists others in achieving homeownership. As an alumna of the University of Louisiana, Deedy possesses an MBA, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education, a USDA loan packager certification, and a Real Estate License.
